osx and movies

OSX is nice , and not because it has no shortcomings , but because you can fix them as opposed to windows.
This has a lot to do with the power of osx that stems from it having applescript and a posix compliant shell.

Here is how to change metadata of files so you can play divx movies with itunes for example , with terminal and devtools
find /path/toyour/movies/directory -name "*.avi" -print0 | xargs -0 /developer/tools/SetFile -t "MooV"
, with applescript http://forums.iloung ..

I am a web developer and i am not disappointed at all by his statement which for the record was straight on and amounted to :
"Flash is not yet good enough for the iPhone,"
To park or not to park

What would you say if not owning a garage your auto seller would supply by default a Mord truck by your house for you to park your new car into and told you this is your only alternative besides buying a garage from them?

The sign for investment

What i am talking about is the date 06.06.06 when we could see signs of the dollar to recover from a 2 month decline in anticipation of the 17th successive rise in U.S. interest rates by the Fed (which happened today) and in the momentum of the oil prices drop.

On MS VC++ 2005 reinventing the wheel

It comes as no surprise too , microsoft's paradigm for adding new features is reinventing the wheel , and they overengineer it just to the point where it is inevitable to break , and impossible to determine why it did so.

On Perl and data manipulation

It is common belief that Perl is the language of choice for the purpose of data processing and manipulation , and i couldn't agree more , having been turning to it every time i needed some serious data processing , only to get the best results at each undertaking.

On high-tech thrillers and story telling

I have finished going trough my third Dan Brown novel , i was curious about these "high-tech thrillers" he is supposed to write , and what can i say , they are not plain , prety documented and mostly entertaining , but i am not sure Dan Brown is a writer , or at best that he has any grip with technology.
